- Take a craft class – Try something new, like pottery, weaving, or glassblowing.
- Attend a lecture on a topic you’ve never been interested in.
- Walk through a high-end open house.

- Take a vow of silence for half a day.
- Go somewhere at night that you’ve only seen in the daytime – Experience a familiar place in a new light.
- Color on the sidewalk or an outdoor wall with chalk.
- Build a campfire from scratch – Gather your own wood, kindling, and create a fire.
- Take yourself out to a nice restaurant.
- Travel somewhere where you don’t speak the language – Get lost in a new culture.
- Start a trip and plan it as you go.
- Play your kids’ (or grandkids’) video games.
- Go to the forest and scream or sing at the top of your lungs.
- Hug a tree.
- Wear something ridiculously comfy, even if it’s not the most fashionable.
- Introduce yourself to someone who’s been living near you for years but you’ve never spoken to.
- Try an exotic dish – Bonus points if you don’t ask what’s in it first!
- Paint or draw a portrait – of yourself or someone else.
- Dance like no one is watching.
- Create a vlog of yourself doing a house chore or errand.
- Go camping – sleeping in a sleeping bag in a tent.
- Dog sit overnight, or a weekend.
- Learn to play the harmonica, or ukulele.
- Spend 4-5 hours in an Art Museum.
- Drive 3+ hours to visit a small, specialized museum.
- Attend a sound bath.
- Volunteer alone at an organization that you don’t know the people.
- Live out of a backpack for a week.
- Learn a magic trick and show it off to your friends.
- Go to the zoo (without kids).
- Plan a “Yes Day” – Agree to any reasonable invitation that comes your way.
- Watch a foreign film without subtitles.
- Start a conversation with a stranger.
- Learn to juggle.
- Run barefoot in the mud.
- Have a picnic alone in a public park or beach.
- Write a poem.
- Cook a full meal without a recipe.
- Spend an hour people-watching – Make up stories about the lives of the people you see.
- Walk around your neighborhood wearing something completely out of your usual style.
- Use a new word in conversation – Even if you’re not sure how to pronounce it or use it correctly.
- Change up your makeup or personal style for the day – Embrace a completely new look.
- Wander through a section of the bookstore or library you’ve never explored.
- Listen to a music genre you’ve never tried before.
- Join a cheering squad at a marathon. Or just go and pass out water to the runners.
